Missions Support Requests
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We have had two recent prayer and financial support requests from our diocese – the first for our Board of Foreign Missions and the Second for our Diocesan Seminary, Cranmer Theological House. I would ask and encourage all of you to pray for these good works of the Church, and to support them financially. They are both very worthy causes and will advance the Kingdom of God throughout the world. Let us consider it a privilege and a gift from God that we can participate in these efforts with our prayers and through our financial gifts.
- I myself an a graduate of Cranmer Theological House. It is becoming increasingly more difficult to find institutions committed to the biblical, catholic, and evangelical heritage of the Anglican way. Cranmer house is committed to this path, and it deserves our support. You can find their fundraising letter here (written by a fellow classmate, Fr. Michael Templin).
- Just as dire as the need for sound domestic seminaries, is the need for foreign seminaries. The Reformed Episcopal Board of Foreign Missions is helping to ensure a sound Anglican presence in the heart of Africa in Malawi at the Leonard Kamungu Theological College. This among many other worthy efforts is greatly deserving of our support. You can find the Board of Foreign Missions Fall Appeal letter here.
I will be recommending to the Bishop’s Council that we as a parish financially support them as we continue our diligent prayers for these efforts. I would ask as well, that you all would be diligent in prayer for these worthy institutions and make a contribution to them.
May God bless you richly!
